Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Through the Grasses

Najin, shown here, and Fatu must eat constantly throughout the day to maintain their incredible size. They do most of their grazing in the morning when it’s cool, consuming up to 120 pounds of grass in a single day. By midday, when the sun is high, they are resting and conserving their energy.
