Today we are celebrating the exquisite giraffe with World Giraffe Day.
World Giraffe Day is an annual event initiated by Giraffe Conservation Foundation to celebrate the giraffe and to create awareness and shed light on the challenges giraffes face in the wild. The giraffe population has shrunk nearly 40 percent in just 30 years and they are officially classified as "vulnerable". Facing habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict what is happening to the giraffe has been called a "silent extinction" as they receive much less attention than some of the African wildlife they share habitat with.
We are proud to have a Reticulated Giraffe featured in our 'Standing Tall' print No. 8 of the Lewa Series photographed on the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya. As always, our artwork directly supports our conservation partners and saving threatened species. Learn more here.
